Pastoral and clergy mental health is a mostly ignored area, especially by those who live their lives as pastors in the clergy. The stigma of mental health within those who serve in the shadow of the cross is something that invokes the stigma of fear. Many of those in the clergy will choose to suffer in their despair rather than reaching out for help. Sometimes those suffering choose to wait until it's too late to get the real help that they need. At Wounded Warriors of the Cross our mission is to lift the stigma and the veil of silence that encompasses clergy mental health and assist those who suffer in silence. Wounded Warriors of the Cross is here to shed the light of Christ's love into those dark places.

Episode 24: Rubber Meets the Road Pastoral Conversation – Pastor James Cox
The purpose of Rubber Meets the Road Pastoral Conversations is to discuss the joys, sorrows and tribulations of pastors serving their Call to the ministry while they live in the shadow of the Cross. The focus of these pastoral conversations is to discuss the meaning of the Office of the Keys from the perspective of the pastors we speak to and also how Matthew eighteen is applied, misapplied, and sometimes abused by so many, even pastors, within the mission of Christ’s Church.
This month’s conversation is with Pastor James Cox. Pastor Cox lives in the St. Louis area and does not currently serve in parish ministry as will be discussed but fulfills his Call by our Lord in a multitude of other ways. Pastor Cox has suffered a multitude of tribulations in his time in the ministry but approaches the work he does in Christ’s name with joy and hope.
